This guy is local to me, and is a great asset to us bushcrafters.

I dont use the G.I. version anymore, I use the nalgene he sells, an old gi canteen froze and busted, and spilled water all over me.
His name is Rob...

I ordered mine from www.canteenshop.com. They have decent prices and good service. He has a new prototype canteen cup stove that he designed that looks awesome.

I went with the GI style nalgene canteen and I really like it over the regular issue plastic ones.

Yep, I'd have to agree either Ben's or Rob at Canteenshop.

I've gotta say Rob is awesome at the canteenshop. I've bought 4-5 times from him and he always makes it right. Never ordered from Bens...so I can't say.

Since Ben is a member here, you better get to ordering. See what good customer service really is.

I got sick of my Nalgene lids breaking and leaking. They claim to be indestructible, and it took me about 10-odd years to figger out they're not, but they're not.

I now have other means of carrying water. Principally, old stainless and aluminum canteens with gaskets, or plastic canteens.

The water might not taste as good in the plastic ones, but I've never had a plastic one break on me, and I can heat water in the steel ones.
