Hey guys, I have a lot of deer hide found in my grandfather in laws basement. I have started making some moccasins and I made a holder for my coffee cup.

BUT...I want a nice bush hat and was wondering if deer hide would hold up to the task of making one. Is it too thin? If so any remedies for that. I dont know where to begin so any help would be appreciated.

Oh I guess I should tell what style I am looking for. I like the Aussie style cowboy hat. Not with the brim folded up just plain round rim.
