Hi guys,
there seems to be a liking for this kind off kit, so I thought I might share my setup with you all.
Here the whole kit in its homemade pouch with additional space for the fuelbottle. I will not transport that inside my foodcontainers. The burner goes on top of the kit and then the pouch is closed.

I also added a Dutch NATO-cup taken from a canteen. This one has a custommade lid, so no ashes or bugs in there while cooking! I did not make the lid.... A Dutch fellow BC-er did. Other extra's include a clothcover around cup & lid, so they will not rattle. Inside the cup there's a foldable cup with a box of matches in it. The last add on is a camping kettlegrip. This way I will not burn my fingers if I use this set over an open fire, for instance.

Another extra is a cut to fit metal mesh (used in wallpainting) in order to keep the cup level.

Excellent... and my mind is racing... How is the sceen held in ? That is the only flaw in the Swedish kit, those two legs to allow folding into each other are unlevel and will collapse if anything other than the pot that came with it is used.

I made a leather carrier for mine out of a German Naval Binocs case, fits perfect and even a pouch for the plastic alcohol container and a place for spare burner gaskets.

I have not modded the stove or burner yet though and a screen addition would just make it perfect, with that you could even burn pine cones and such if you ran out of alcohol.

Thanks for sharing, I am a HUGE fan of this kit and all its uses besides just cooking/heating.

Have you guys used the plastic, big kuksa-like cups with your swedish mess kits.

I mean these :

Fits like a glove as its built to fit inside those.

Simple. You should fold the legs out as far as possible. Then they are level.
In this way only the pot can be used, correct.
Put a grid on top of the legs and you can put anything on it without risc of falling over. This grid is sitting loose on the legs btw.

As far as the lid in concerned.... It is preordered and custommade in a very limited amount. About 10 of them, I guess...

I have a couple of those kuksas too, but these are still in Sweden, my future homeaddress.... and I am still 1600km further south...

You have given me some good ideas on how to enhance my personal kit, and I thought I would add one more bit of info - gaskets. I - ahem - burned/ruined several gaskets when they stuck to the burner. After purchasing some expensive gaskets, I discovered that Ace Hardware has a wide range of rubber gaskets for very competitive prices.

On the green plastic kuksa cup, I just wish I could purchase one of those items in America. If anyone knows of an American source, I would sure like to know about it.

That's the cup I have, in OG.
You can clamp a box of matches inside so it stays in one place.

I bought a couple sets of the Fold a Cups from Sportsmansguide a couple of months ago. Pretty cheap I thought, 4 for like 14 bucks.
