How about adding Hawai'i to the Local Groups list since we seem to be getting more and more Hawaiian joining the forum. ;)

Wolfy you poor fellow "they" mislead you. The "official" state fish was selected by a bunch of non-Hawaiian tourist board members years ago to promote tourism with a mascot fish with a "funny" name but with little cultural significance. A few years ago native Hawaiians tried to push to get the more culturally important 'O'opu fish made the state fish since these freshwater fish are endemic to Hawai'i and again of cultural importance. The majority non-Hawaiian vote won out, and the humuhumunukunukuapua'a remains as the state fish. :rolleyes:
