I was lucky enough to ind this out when I first joined. It lets you view 40 posts instead of 10 on a page in a thread so its easier and more convenient. As far as the other one goes im not sure what it does, as mine was already set like that and never had to change it.

10-10-2011, 02:22 AM
Okay did it, what did I just do?

10-10-2011, 02:34 AM
Yep, I'm another one that did the 40 posts per page within a day or two of joining. It's so much easier to just scroll down through the posts without having to keep reloading pages.

Of course, it does make for a bit of confusion when you read folks referring to a post on page 2 and you're still on page one. :D

I actually did not find this out until about a month ago. So much better than clicking a new page every few posts.

Okay did it, what did I just do?

the 40 posts per page just makes viewing a little easier.

the passive video embeding allows you to embed video's directly from youtube or other sources by using the copy/paste function directly.

the WYSIWYG text interface sounds fancy, but it stands for "What You See Is What You Get." it's a text editor similar to microsoft word, that allows you to see the changes in typing format as you type in the reply box. if you click "go advanced" when replying, you'll get even more options.

all in all, this setup is just more intuitive and user friendly, hope this helped.

ETA: for those with slower connections, disabling the avatars causes the pages to load faster as well.

I used to do this, but when we moved my sat internet is too slow, and loading pics was taking forever so I changed back. I miss fast internet, but I like my woods more. lol

Thanks! I was wondering if I could do something like that, but never took the time to fiddle and figure it out.

10-12-2011, 02:19 PM
Mine were already set like that, from day one or two.
The one thing I wish was available, would be the option to show even more posts .. like "100" .. or even "ALL" ??

10-13-2011, 12:20 AM
Ooh, that's much easier. Thanx.

10-13-2011, 02:04 AM

Will this setting stay at 100 when I surf at work? If so, I'll probably change it back cause the bandwidth sucks at work, pics take minutes to load...
At home, different story.

10-05-2012, 11:15 PM
Cool thanks.

10-05-2012, 11:29 PM
Excellent. Thanks, Keyser.

Setting the higher posts for page limit is great for bandwidth costs for Guy and Jason too I'll add as the banner and such doesn't have to be reloaded each time.

The banner should be in your browser cache if you come here with any frequency.
