I was looking at my full size axe, it appears to have a crack thru the back of the head. What reasonably priced full size axes are worth looking at? I'm looking for a basic single bladed chopping and felling axe, on a hardware store budget.

I have the Jersey Classic that I like overall for the price. A few members here have the boys axe and they seem pretty happy with it as well.

Here is a video from Iz:

For hardware store budget, council is good. Also look into buying an old head and putting a handle on. You could do that for under 25 bucks.

There's also the Bacho Axes. Ben's Backwoods carries them, but not the full size model. He says they need some edge refining, but once they're set they're supposed to be great.

I would skip the hardware store, get on evilbay, there are hundreds of used axes cheap. Then get on the Hickory Handle store, "also on evilbay" and get a stick for it.
