i do a lot of cooking with the canteen cup manly beef stew and it all ways sticks is there a way to make it not stick??

More liquid, lower direct heat, and a bit of grease or oil coating before you start.

+1 on the use of a bit of oil and less heat. To take off the baked on goo, use sand, snow or river silt with some water and you have a great abrasive.

The small oven bags as liners work well. Has many uses in the field as well, from harvesting to water collection etc... Just make sure ya pack it out as they'd probably be around for ages.

I tend to season my cup about once a season, ala the method used for iron pans/griddles, coat it, inside with oil and heat it up.
Afterward, avoid cleaning it, with very hot water and harsh detergents, absolutely do not clean it in the dishwasher (it will need re-seasoning if you do).

I also concur with lowering the heat level on the bottom of the cup, to avoid scorching.

Cleaning with a damp cloth and a bit of salt will often get the baked on crud out withou ruining the seasoning.
