After posting on the neck knife thread i decided to bring my micro neck knife out of retirement,i haven't wore it for a long time so i thought it was time to start.

This knife was made up of left overs from my knife making so i chucked it together just for fun,Its 4mm O1 tool steel with a curly birch handle with a 6mm lanyard tube and 2-4mm pins.

The total length is 2 1/4"

I cleaned up the handle and gave it a couple of coats of walnut oil,i also re-ground the bevel as i was not happy with it,it is hair splitting sharp now.

I wonder if anyone has a smaller neck knife than this one?if not i think the knife makers on the forum should make sure they don't waste there scrape materials and make some micro knives just for fun and lets see how small you can go.

Yours is a good idea.
I've been kinda grooving on the idea of micro fixed blade knives as of late.

The smallest neckers I've "made" are these:

Very simple, I call them "harpoons".

That's really cool, and you've got me beat. This is the smallest I ever made, my very first knife from a file. But it's a whopping 3" total, 1" blade so you win :)
No wait, I did try to sharpen a quarter all the way around when I was a kid, does that count?

Cool stuff.

I made these a couple years ago. Never made a sheath for 'em. One is used as a "tin knife" and the other is a spare.

Made from a pair of stainless steel scissors. :p Fiskars IIRC.

Just put that together for Snakes...he's gonna rehandle it with some scales, pins, glue and a carbide drillbit.
Sheath is "lapel" type with buttonhole and is sized to fit rehandled knife. I gave it a quick cordwrap as an experiment and to hold it in the sheath during transit.

Cheers,
