    Default Rtak II Cut

While cross-cutting a log with my Ontario Rtak II today, the blade glanced off and sliced open my thumb. It has taught me a great lesson and to respect the dangers knives pose even more. I ended up getting four stitches after five numbing shots, and a splint. Be careful guys! Our tools can injure us when we least expect it. It's a blessing that my thumb wasn't cut all the way off. I'll post photos soon.

Sorry it happened. Heal up fast.
Thoreau: "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."

Luckily, the blade didn't cut too much of my fingernail. If it did, they would have removed it.

Just remember, it only hurts until the pain goes away.

Sorry for your misfortune. Get better.

    Default Get well soon!

Yikes! Like the old adage says "it's not a question of IF you'll get cut with a knife, it's WHEN you'll get cut with a knife." If you don't have a few scars on your hands, you aren't using knives. My hands have alot more than a few scars. Glad it wasn't worse... wishing you speedy recovery.

Ouch! Good reminder to always be careful. I nick myself fairly often, but nothing serious recently. I'm probably overdue...
