    its good for chopping, and its light enough to carry for ages, the edge retention is ok.
    For splitting its not that good since the plastic handle is molded onto the head, which gets in the way.

    nice stuff. I've got my favorite hats, knives, hatchet, and a few other day hike tools. The one thing I can't find is the perfect bag. I'm convinced that it doesn't exist. I like how you went with the extra simple bag. Nicely done.

    Water ? I usually carry at least one canteen and cup.

    Nice looking set up, I was wondering about the cup and canteen too.
    Do you find the saw comes in handy for a day hike?
