I made this tonight with a peanut/almond mix instead of walnuts, it is excellent! (This is just a third of the recipe). I think im going to have to make it again in the near future with more nuts and maybe some craisins or dried fruit mixed in.

It has been raining most of the day, so I decided to give this recipe a try. I had it last winter and loved it, but have not made it myself. The guys at work will get a treat tomorrow. I did substitute almonds for walnuts and vanilla for maple. It's what I had on hand.

Kurt, you were right about the rain, what a miserable day outside today. I've been wanting to try some too since last winter. Hope they turned out.

Had some made by Mahaney on an outing. Energy to spare but when it is done with you it will kick out your back door to get out!
