    plus 1 on the Wrangler. It goes anywhere the Rover can and can actually be fixed in the United States. The Defender is a great looking vehicle but its hard to fix and does poorly on the highway portion of the trip.

    My wife keeps talking about how we need a Pinzgauer. I agree, except for that 60-70mph top speed.

    +1 on the Rover Defender. My friend has one, it’s a sweet ride. A guy down the road from me has one rotting away in a field, he will not part with it, a shame to see it go that way. I have a line on an International Scout, another favorite ride of mine. That one has a complete spare engine in a crate ready to go. I currently drive a 2007 FJ Cruiser, that has never let me down in snow or mud, either, it’s my daily drive so I don’t want to abuse it too much, or modify it so that it would not be street legal.
