Motor vehicle wise and old military jeep with an engineer trailer to tote along behind would suffice, maybe with a ROKON motorcycle in the trailer for when the jeep just couldn't go any further.

With power to spare and space for my daypack and a few extras![]()
one of these would greatly increase my ability to get where other can't
plain ol john boat maybe add a 30 hp motor.
I'd also like
nice next generation greenland skinned kayak
but most of all right now I need roof racks for my current kayaks.
My 2000 Z71 hasn't let me down yet. If I had the money to get one, a real military HMMWV is a nice ride ( the only drawback being its width). If I could actually find one, my number one pick would be one of the post WWII Jeeps that came with a PTO as I think that PTO would be really handy in the woods from time to time.

Dream vehicle?
Why dream when you can build and use it;
Jeep CJ-7 (any short, light, 4 wheel drive, vehicle with a frame, would work as a starting point)
4.56 gears,
locking differentials, front and rear,
SOA suspension,
4:1 low range transfer case,
35" BFG mud terrain tires,
4.0 liter engine,
multi-point injection,
5 speed,
front winch,
on-board compressor, tools and welder (along with spare parts, fluids etc).
Will crawl rocks, do deep mud, sand, gravel, snow and water (40+ inches). Gets better than 20 mpg on the highway and will cruise safely at 90 MPH +. Gets used on difficult trails (I didn't build it for the extreme trails/don''t like fixing body damage).
If building another today I would likely start with a Jeep TJ, for the suspension.
There is no stock or near stock, widely available, vehicle on the market that meets my needs (although the Jeep Rubicon comes close), they all need significant mods.
Don't dream; Fabricate, then use, to get experience and have fun...
Enjoy!

The old M35A2, deuce and a half, 6x6. Get all 6 wheels driving and they were almost unstoppable. Almost unsteerable too for that matter.
