    Default Post your flashlights

I searched for a flashlight thread and didn't see one. Shiny things are always fun to discuss, figured I would start one.

I have more than a few, so I will post a couple to start.

Sunwayman V10R The ramping on this is unlike anything out there. It goes from moonlight to like 210 lumens. easily lights up the building 107 yards from my front porch.

    Surefires...

2D Maglite with ROP mod (Roar of the Pelican) This is a 1200' thrower easy. The reflector is solid billet aluminum with a Borofloat glass lens. The stock stuff would melt ...

a flashlight really should NOT be subjected to being owned by me

that said...this one has been banged around, dropped, drowned countless times, slammed against stuff (the bezel can be used like a hand hammer on stuck u-joint bolts! ), clipped to my cap for night reading and is my constant companion. If I reach for my gun, my weak hand goes for my light...100% of the time. I am never without it...and as much as it costs...I would buy another in 1 second if I ever needed to. It's proved itself to me.

Oh honey, is this all you're going to post? I know you have probably 500 more. Are you being modest or do you not want everyone to know about your addiction?

not trouble....just maybe Jeff has to disclose his CPF charter membership, his buying of batteries in 50 lb lots....and perhaps his company stock positions in led manufacturers.

LMAO...I have so many flashlights scattered all over the house, cars, sheds, in packs, pockets, etc...don't think I'd ever want to try to gather them all up at once. It would be impressive, however

My favorite (so far) handhelds are the Fenix, Jetbeam, and Inova LED lights. I've been carrying my Fenix E20 for the last three years or so. It's a great light, but I think the switch is starting to wear out

I was a fan of the mini maglites incandescents for several years during Scouts, till one day I taped two of them to a hardhat on a caving trip. One fell off, and went out. I subsequently lost both bulbs in the process of trying to change them. Then I was down to two lights, one maglite, and my extra. Somewhere along the line the second maglite went out, so I was down to my spare light (cheap LED light I think). It lasted the rest of the trip, but I was fairly blind.

They're great for throw, but not for long life or shock resistance

I really want to build or buy one of those 6-D maglites with a superbright LED lamp assembly. I've heard the first units of that sort were pretty crappy, the heat sink wasn't good on em. But now they're pretty decent.
