    Default Stanley Cook Set

I have that set and use it on every outing. It's lightweight and you can break the kit down to fit your needs. It has a nice lid which you can use as a strainer and a good solid folding handle. I paid $ 9.00 for mine on clearence. Great kit for the price. The cups are heavy duty and you don't need a cozy. I did make a cozy for the cook pot. It's a handy kit and it will sever you well. You can't beat the price.

In addition to that, its stainless steel, and it gives a nice even heat and holds some of it in. Aluminium transmits the heat faster to the water. If you're used to aluminium pots it would seem slow.

I just picked one of these sets up and the Camelbak 1L (Older version) bottles with the straw/valve fit into the pot nicely.
And taking the handle off to stow it separately isn't hard but I need to look into how I want to carry it and in what kind of case or bag.
Not a bad little set for the cost.

I ended up grabbing two from Walgreens. I didn't realize that Target still had them for sale in store.

I think I'll be stopping by to see if they are on clearance.

What exactly is the wooded bead for?

wood bead keeps the split ring from laying flat on top of the lid -- easier to grab that way.

I found that if you take the split rung and just slide it over the loop a little it will stand up on it's own.
Will have to get a pic to better explain but can't do that for a little while.

I bent my split so that is flares out. It can lay flat but when I stand it up and pull it and it stays upright w/ the tension.

OK - yeah I need to take a picture of this and you will understand.
