Watched all 3 vids today. What I learn, which I already knew, was to set what shelter you had by the fire. Anytime I been out with minimal shelter I spent the whole night by the fire. Thanks for all the effort and the time to film it.

Fire may not always be an option. For example, stormy weather and high winds are going to limit the benefit of a fire. That is kinda the reason I was trying this shelter. I understand what you are saying and I don't disagree.

After viewing them again, the thing I find most striking is how much effort you exert. No question survival situations take a lot of energy and you better have your head on straight. Prioritizing your activities is no doubt a very important task. Practice is certainly high on the priority list too. Thanks again

excellent trip and report brother.that bed/shelter looked very warm.i am surprised you got cold feet.did you think about taking the wet socks/shoes off and trying without in the shelter?do you think the low calorie intake also had something to do with the cold feet?

Bill, a big part of the problem is that I have very poor circulation in my feet. Both have had frostbite. My socks were dry when I went to bed, but my boots were damp. I might have been able to take off my boots and socks if I put a ton of dried grass around them. Food for thought.

You're the real deal Terry. One of the best shelter tutorials I've seen and I love the hybrid use of the emergency blanket. I suspect those bluegills are pretty much shut down for now until they start running low on fat. In our aquaculture tanks, the fish just stop feeding below 10 degrees C. Your whole series puts into perspective, the power of a PSK and the right attitude. Plus it does take practice, practice, practice in order to see the opportunities and use them when under duress. Thanks so much for your excellent video and photo-documentary!
