That is sweet. I always did a kinda double knot to keep mine from coming undone.

It seems to only be certain laces/cords that don't want to hold a standard knot, this looks like a great solution.

    Thanks for sharing.

Does it slip on you guys with just a regular knot?
Long laces, looped around the boot, with a square knot in the back, laces tucked in. The only negative I have heard about this is if for some reason you end up in the water and need to get your boots off to swim, I say be able to swim with you boots on.

If you use paracord, especially the real Mil-C-5040H TYPE III that has a tighter braid, for your laces it slips a lot. That knot works great for keeping it tied. Even if you tuck your laces in.

I have always used a double knot with para cord laces for over 20 years and have never had a problem.

I add two twists to the standard tie by using a quick release surgeons knot. Keeps it tied very well and also quick release.

I got so tired of having to stop and re-tie my kids laces on hikes, I ran them through cord locks and stuck the extra lengths inside. Made it easy on them and me but now I think they don't know how to tie their shoes. This will work great instead. Thanks for the post.
