Sweet find! Those three screws are nice old revolvers. Has it had the factory recall conversion?

This one is a .357. I paid $350.00. Being an unconverted 3 screw adds about $100.00 to it value around here.

You got a great buy! If you decide it is not for you, let me know. I know some guys that love those older unconverted 3 screw Rugers! Enjoy it my friend!

    Nice grips!

Looks like Bocote wood. I'd remove them and get something on there that you won't mind getting scratched-up while in the field.

    Good score!

With that old 3 screw, anything under $600 could be considered cheap. Very nice find, and should make a great field gun.

Due to a law suit many years ago Ruger offers a sort of make shift transfer bar for these older Rugers to prevent them from firing when dropped. The correct way to carry them is without a round under the hammer. Converted they are worth $100.00 less. Thankfully this one is original.

Great score, you got a real bargain.
Ruger would put in a new trigger and hammer mechanism so it has a transfer bar. If the trigger is not all the way back, the hammer can't touch the firing pin. A nice conversion, but I prefer mine the way it is.
Ruger used to send the old parts back with the gun so you conld convert it back if you want to. I don't know if they still do that or not.
Blasted lawyers, always messing up a good thing trying to find some deep pockets to blame when someone is plain stupid.

Killer score -- I have a pair of 3-screw Rugers (.44 & .357) that I have to sell this week due to car troubles. It's come down to wheels or wheel guns -- and wheels wins.
