I had been just using my phone cam. But it got stolen the other day and waiting on replacement. I've sometimes brought my Panasonic Lumix. Usually haven't done much photo stuff, though.

I've never before taken an actual vidcam, although I've got a nominal Canon, but this forum is influencing me to maybe add some more media to my outings... and sharings.

Iphone 4 for photos and Flip HD for video. Great lightweight combo.

    I use a GE X5.
Its kinda big and heavy, but has a full size lens and is easy to hold on to even with gloves.
The price was pretty good too.

I use a Canon SD800 Powershot and then hacked the firmware to use CHDK to add a whole lot of other features. Now I can do time lapse, zoom lens while doing video, change my shutter speeds to as long as 65 secs or as short as 1/100,000 of a sec. I can also control the flash output, and a ton of other features. A great hack for the camera. Unfortunately, it only works with Canon and only certain models, but there are a lot of models included in the compatibility list. I also hacked my Canon SX10. Here is a link to the CHDK wiki if you are interested.
