Mine weighs about 2.5lbs as well,I love the canvas bedroll! I bought mine from Beckel canvas because I wanted one with a zipper,It also unzips completely and has gromets to be used as a small tarp if need be.

that one form beckel canvas, i looked at that one, it says 4.5 lbs total, is yours
2.5ibs or the site wrong?

I weighed it on my scale and it reads 2.8 lbs

ok, is that zipper pretty sturdy? or can u get without the zipper?

I think there's is zipper only, but I believe the ones from tentsmiths and panther primitives use ties. Perhaps if you call and ask they may be able to make whatever you want
