+ 1 on the poncho and the wool blanket. I'm not a fan of the Alice packs though. Also, the allure of the Sportsman's Guide "buy 4 for the 19.99" is sometimes a mixed bag. Sometimes those deals are for great gear, sometimes you get total crap. I bought some Czech canvas work clothes that lasted exactly one week before they fell apart. Also the SG deal on the "windproof" lighters is not worth it. They fall apart and are beyond fixing.

My favorite day pack is the Italian surplus Mountain Rucksack. It goes from between $15-$40. I bought mine in new condition for $40. Here's a BCUSA review of the pack:

My surplus nalgene water bottle carrier was $2. It's a british military ammo pouch. Here's the review of the pouch:

Alice pack, poncho, e tool, Italian army wool blanket, sleep system bivy (so glad the army let me keep it!), that's all I can think of. I love the canteen cup paired with the stove, but I don't like using a plastic canteen. Anyone know where one might find a ss army style canteen?

Aw man! Forgot my arctic mittens and my wooly-pulley sweaters! Saved my bacon on sub-zero arctic nights already!
