+1! While not really surplus, my fav shirt is my repro M1916 US Army wool shirt from "What Price Glory". Love my roomy repro M1937 mustard wool trousers! Very comfy in the cold.

Forgien wool blankets (I just don't like the US ones, Brit and French are the best I've used)

My winter Canadian military issue coat. It wasn't bought, it was handed down from a friend who is ex-military. It's so warm, and well built. I frickin' love it!

The zipper on my other thinsulate winter coat busted on me this winter, and that's when my friend gave me his old military issue. I'm so happy about that. I really needed a good quality warm winter coat.

I passed on my old winter coat to my roommate, who was able to fix the zipper for just $12 at the tailors, by the way. It was a nice coat, though I didn't like the gaudy color. The army green suits me so much better.

I don't use a lot of army surplus stuff but my ex-British Army jungle knife is great for general camp duties.

I couldn't live without paracord, I seem to go through tons of the stuff.

My all time favorite item was my first flip top ammo can. It was my first tool box when a simple socket and ratchet set along with pliers and a couple of screwdrivers and a set of combo wrenches could do most repairs needed to my car. A far cry from my now 5 1/2 foot tall roll away filled by the sacrificial offerings to the gods of Snap-On and Mac tools.

I'm now considering one to make a twig stove out of as shown here on the forum. The old military style lensatic compass is no slouch either.
