Im gonna have to keep tabs on this. To date, all my camping/hiking/bushcrafting has been at state parks rather than public land. I hope to see something pop up in my area.

I made a Google map to help out the members here at BCUSA to help compile a list of public land open to bushcrafting. The link to the map, it is editable but private (won't show up in searches).

Here is map to post good areas for practicing bushcraft. Listing public land available to bushcraft is the key goal, but and members that have land they would like to share are more then welcome to share.

How it works is you click on the red edit button, then on the map you can chose a marker to place on the map, there are all kinds of markers to chose from. Fill out the details that you want, then save.

    Thanks Bill
Great idea, Bill. Very useful. One question - what qualifies a piece of land as "good for practicing bushcraft" or "available to bushcraft?" Is it easy access? Good resources? Friendly regulations? All of the above?

Thanks for the credit, but I just stole the idea from another site. I'm not that creative and was surprised I got it to work the first time anyway.

I imported the google earth data from http://www.wilderness.net/index.cfm?...&sec=geography for the deam wilderness area in Indiana. It seems to be a little buggy , let me know if it works ok. I could add all the federally recognized wilderness boundaries but I think that would basically kill the map to have all that stuff on it.

No red edit button on my map either . To the left of the directional arrows are other boxes like print etc .
