In the Glock I only have a nail to make it a spear and cotton balls to keep the nail from making noise. In the bushman I have nothing.

It's a surprise to me that for instance Ka Bar already made hollow handles way back in 1930. Nice!
    Thanks for the videos Dutch!

    Default My 80's survival knife

Got this beauty (Laughing as I typed that) sometime after I left the Navy (82'?) the original compass cap has long since been destroyed, but the original survival items are still in tact. Anyone have any suggestions on how I might sharpen the sawtooth edges to make them useable?

I'm getting one of those!!! After, watching the video, I am convinced that I won't survive without it! (Sarcasm)

That was awesome. Thanks for the childhood memories.

Pretty sure your knife is a Klikka Lifeknife...early '80s honest effort at a value. Some in SK5, more, many more in 420. The sheathes were cheesy, but the knives were decently put together.

If indeed your knife IS a Lifeknife, and I sure think it is:

    (1) I don't think Pete Klikka, the seller, ever called the spinal serrations sawteeth. My impression is that he considered it a fish scaler. These usually came with a wiresaw, whose rings stored around the upper handle.

    (2) I think this is addressed in the J E Smith book, in fact, but I no longer own a copy. Someone who does own a copy might be able to clarify this.
