big fan of merrels - although i'm alwats a tad frustrated the EU market and the US market arn't the same - could I get SAWTOOTHS could I heck....
now, i have them for 7 years but i only use them in fall -winter and early spring, but i really tried to finish them off by using them last year for installing hardwood floors...and i'm only 185Lb so i guess if someones heavier they wear-out faster...

i have had several pair of them. i am currently in the Moab Ventilators, got them in 09' and besides the inside where the Achilles tendon rides and replacing the strings for paracod, no problems at all. i had another pair that i wished i could find again, don't remember the model, but the were a low cut, full grain leather upper, lace up. some kind of rock climbing shoe i believe. excellent for driving/goofing off.
Thanks for the review, I've been looking at Merrells. I'd like to try the Merrell Barefoot.

I'm a total fan of Merrells. I purchased my first pair for a medical trip to Uganda Africa. They served me well, and I've worn them many, many times since. They're a bitch to wear out.
On my second pair of Moabs as well. Best shoe I ever bought.
When my Puma runners wear out I want to get a pair of Merrells
