I just happen to have recently come across a V'd branch section that I think will work for a one piece...We'll see how it goes...I have other pipes I need to craft first that I'll be selling....have you made one? If so do ya happen to have a photo?

This will be my next project when I'm bored in the woods. Thank you. Really informative.

I have a ton of oak here, How long would it take oak to cure at that diameter?

Thanks again to SkogKniv for the tip on boring out the center of the stem...it worked great! N-joy....

Good Job! Nice proportions and overall shape. You have an eye for this, I think.

    Default my 1st bush pipe

just a quick and dirty 1st attempt, only took about 15 min to make.
i used a piece of old cherry firewood for the bowl, for the stem i cut some green salmon berry.

it smoked pretty good but i should have put the stem a little lower.

i need a bigger drill bit so i can make bigger pipes :\
next one i'll sand and finish it a little

edit - note to self: don't use green wood for stems, it shrinks (duh)

Awesome job man....you should take a look at Forstner Bits for hollowing out the bowls....they work great! You can get a set at the Depot for about $25 bucks or so....
    All the best...
