Default Need Help Id'ing an Ax

I just bought another ax today. Its a nice sized hoosier ? pattern about 3 pounds. The oak handle leaves something to be desired. It will need to be rehung. The marking says LL Wells ??? Made in England. Does anybody know anything about this brand and possible value? It has a good ring to it, not a thunk. Cutting edge around 5.5"

After a bit of clean up...very little mainly stripping the gosh awful nasty john deere green paint off of the head and removing the busted up handle. The ax reads "Elwell"on one side and Made in -England- on the other...here are a few pics left and right side. These are as good as it gets with my camera.

Nice looking, does it appear to have a standard eye like US made axes?
So you can find a handle for it.

Yep...it sure does. After a bit of history I found the last stamping of Elwell was around 1944ish. They were bought out by Chillingsworth? forge around 1903 or so.
