if you're looking for a tipi style tent, can't go wrong with the best "THE Tentipi"... http://www.tentipi.com/where-to-buy-...ield-outdoors/
The Shangri-La 5 is now available again (Evergreen only). Just ordered mine for $299.99 (minus $200 in gift cards that I saved up).
Still mine seems reasonably well sewn and strong enough to stand up in a wind. Stronger than the dome I lost last year anyway
I gleaned this info from youtube and made my own tarp teepe for just the cost of the tarp.
can't understand this guy, i think he is speaking English, not sure.
I made mine from a simple 12 x 16 polytarp, this method results in a four sided trapezoid with one side being the floor.
I staked my door open for ventilation and used a common GI poncho as a rain barrier over the opening. you can stake out the door so as to completely close the opening.
I used an old painters extension for the tent pole, but any twig could be used. I also used some plastic and metal tent pegs I had, but any twig could be used. I also, took a shop rag that I tore up and made "buttons", where I could gather and loop a piece of 550 cord over to pull out the side panels to give a little more interior room.
worth a try for the price.
If your going to go all out than get a Tentipi. Otherwise I'd suggest something like this. But what do you want to use the tent for? Like what weather?
I've owned an ton of shelters and if your going for the Go Lite, go all the way and get the SL-5. At times it's nice to have the extra space when the weather is nasty or if you have someone with you.
Honestly, for the money it's just darn hard to beat Go Lite's SL-5. The only thing needed on the Go Lite is to sew in an Ti Goat Versa jack stove port and upgrade to an carbon fiber pole.
