that link looks pretty good panzer, $$ aint to bad. White would be cool...I gave my last extra sweedish one away....looked all over the net this am, and they aint avail anymore. least not that I could find. lots of knockoffs from other countries through SG, but they are not the same. SG did have some all white nylon sweed ponchos that are going to get ordered!

I got one of these Orvis waxed cotton anoraks for Christmas from my wife and love it. It's quite warm, very windproof and held up just fine in snow, sleet and rain so far. Couldn't be happier with it... exactly what I was hoping it would be, about the only downside is the price. At 50% off though you got a great deal

    W-

Bummer about the Bean anorak. They used to be the best.

I was going to suggest the one from Orvis too!.. I have been eyeballing it in Olive, but the price is a bit too hefty right now for me... Although it would have been key last weekend. Waxed and has the flannel lining.

I have been disappointed in LL Bean for years. As far as I can tell, only the Bean Boots are Maine made and very, very little is US made (Carhartt went that way to).

I spend my money elsewhere, and think it is sad.

Absolutely - this is a wonderful pattern that is quite popular in Alaska. Folks in heavy snow country make theirs white - made mine from HD olive drab awning canvas. It's big enough that I can wear it over just about anything, and it has saved wear and tear (and burn holes) on my other clothing.
