Oh my! Germany is absolutely spectacular as far as land. Plus there is the right to roam in all forests.

100s and 1000s of square kilometres of forest, quite a few moderate mountain/hill ranges.

Many biotopes, from Alpine to moorland/heath, to primordial forestland.

    It's just awesome.

Gorgeous locale. And I really envy you the snow you're enjoying there, even if it was late in arriving this year. There's still no snow accumulated here (except a light dusting) in the near north of Ontario, Canada, in mid January. It's a little worrisome as it's the 4th winter in a row where we've had little, and each year worse than the one before.

I'm wondering, Susanne, if you've ever tried a Kochanski super shelter? I'm planning on giving it a try later this month.

    Cheers,
    - Martin

Wow. What a gorgeous place to hike/ski/Bushcraft! Nicely done! I think your selection of the site was spot-on in that location. Thank you for sharing your trip with us!

Beautiful scenery. The person who does a trip like this in winter must be competent.

That's great, Susanne Wow, Bavarian Alps look a lot like the Selkirk in North Idaho;no doubt a lot better beer and Schnitzel to be had in Bavaria,eh

Looks like a lovely place to camp! I wanna get out there, too.
