I have had one for the past 16 years, and handload the rounds with one of the lee loaders. It's a great rifle, and you can down load the rounds for lighter game. Like others have said, for $170 go get it!

I've also loaded them using the powder charge and bullets for 45 long colt, and 45 acp.
I'm not a Sheepdog, just a Wolf that hunts other Wolves.

.457 round ball a little unique held against the primer with a wonder wad works good too

My buffalo classic shots that really well. Taken a bit of small game that way

    My 1990s Handi-Rifle has often done 1 1/2" at 100 using

    300 grain Winchester factory

Williams WGOS rear aperture sight (needs a taller front sight, and for me the NEF .22 Hornet front works)

It weighs at least a pound too little for the thumpy Winchester stuff, so I'm fighting a flinch...but up until then, accuracy is more than adequate.

    I second that!
Hard to beat that for a woods bumming rifle and you could hunt just about anything with it.
Reloading for .45/70 is on my 2013 To-Do list.
