    Default source for usgi ponchos

Been hunting all over internet-land and have not seen very much. lots of liners, but no authentic usgi ponchos.

wondering if anyone has a source to order one of these?

I've seen them in several military surplus stores here in Utah, I just looked at there websites but they are just for info not set up for Internet sales.

I've gotten a few over at US Cav. They are pricier ($40-50 if I remember correctly), but it is a good, solid poncho. They're the only place I've found with a consistent supply of actual GI ponchos.

Just keep checking your local surplus store. The wife and I found a new unissued usgi poncho for $35 and an excellent used on for $24. We snapped 'em up quick. Took us a couple of months to score but the owner called us when he got a few in. The usgi ponchos seem to be getting scarce out there.

Oops......re-read and saw you're looking internet only.....I tried that route, but I prefer to see and look an item like these in person. So many internet merchants have different levels of 'used', 'excellent' and 'new' condition.

found something on line - not issue, but apparantly this company makes them for the military. they employ special needs folks and make the stuff the military uses. Found an ACU pattern, 96" all snaps and grommets, PU coated. $29.00. also got a good condition liner (like you said, who knows what 'good' means). we'll see.

Just went to look at the site to see what I bought and it no longer lists the poncho. Hmmm. hope mine was one of the last ones.

I will keep you posted -

    thanks for your input

Shoot... I got one a few weeks ago at http://www.armygear.net/ag/store/001...EUsBMf&mv_arg= but they're showing out of stock now... I don't know if its something they restock or if it was a one-off batch, but its another place to keep an eye on, I guess...

I've been scoring some good surplus stuff lately on everyone's favorite online auction site. I've picked up a lightly used USGI goretex Bivy and a poncho liner - each for less than $30, although it took a few tries on different auctions. I am trying to decide if I would prefer a poncho or a tarp for my next piece of shelter kit.

Try this site; they have decent selection of new and used:

USGI-like for 22.95 on the poncho.
