playing with fire

spent the morning sipping coffee by the fire and decided it was time to work on a hickory bow thats been sitting around way too long.
needed a bit of straightening and a fire is my favorite way to do it.
one limb had a sideways kink at the end

after maybe 15 mins waving over the fire took it to the tree

worked pretty good

nocks line up with the handle well
time to finish this puppy up

thanks for yr kind words, uncle willie.
yup, a simple stick with string speaks to the primordial deep within.
no feeling like it in the world, at least for me, when it all comes together and makes a tool that can facilitate life at it most basic level.
this one will go to live with one of my brothers in montana.
he's an avid bow hunter and this stick will make meat-the original purpose of such a tool
