    Default Ruger Super Blackhawk

While at the Mid Atlantic Winter meet, there was much philosophizing. One topic I brought up was the merits of different calibers in the ruger Blackhawk, and it was largely decided that for my needs, a 44 magnum or 41 magnum would get the job done. I left the meet with the idea that if one came along, I would try and pick it up. Only the next day I was out looking for ammunition when I came across a stainless steel Super Blackhawk in 44 magnum with a 7.5" barrel used at a local sporting goods shop. Once my wait period is over, I'll let you know how she shoots.

You done good my friend; and it certainly would have been my choice between the two calibers and barrel configuration.

Though I prefer my 4" - 5.5" barrels, I do have a .44 Bisley Hunter (BlackHawk with Bisley grip frame) that has a 7.5 inch pipe. Built like a dang tank, and puts the bullets right where the sights "say" they ought to be - on time - every time. Great pistol!

You made a good choice IMO!

I love my Super Blackhawk Hunter in .44 mag - that thing is a nail driver bought from someone on a glock forum for $400 a couple years back got a nice galco hip holster for it - she comes with me when I am in bear territory and up on my buddies tree farm.
I put a houge grip on it and fell in love all over again - I highly recommend it!

    Enjoy!!

Example of mine from the interweb - I ussually carry without the scope

I only paid $400 for it, so there was plenty of money left for more ammo. I realized a year or so ago that I had all these children and nothing to feed them, so I have been trying to spend more money on ammo. The only problem is I keep getting more and more calibers!

Have you ever fed a new 45-70 lever gun? It ain't cheap!
