    Default ammo scarce

Been buying it for years and this summer to fall I picked up cases and cases of Federal bulk 22lr and a few cases of Blazer. I'm 40 and I think I have at least an lifetime of the stuff.

Good news is today I sourced 9 boxes of PMC 40 Starfire @ $17 ea, Federal Fusion 30-06 @ $16 box, and some Tula 7.62x39 154gr softpoint.

Right now 22lr is an complete ripoff because of demand. One thing we must all keep in mind is that the good ol days of cheap ammo are over. The base metals used in ammo is getting consumed more and more world wide, so after recycling you need to mine and refine. Mining costs are higher than ever and they will never go back down because demand in developing economies and population growth will be driving base metal prices.

I bought heavily after the election in 2008 and have kept adding to it every since. My great grandkids will probably get to shootsome of it.

I thought the $3+ gas wouldn't last, but here it is 3 years later.

I guess we all have opinions.

How do you know it is chicken little? And how do you know there is no real reason?

People ask me why I carry a gun and state there is no real reason.

In the same light, I'd rather have a lot of ammo and not need it than need it and not have it.

I'm going to shut my mouth before my opinions turn political, because that's where they will go.

Firearms owners have been under attack, in one way or another, since the mid 1960's. it has ben increasing in ferocity and speed since the Clinton years and the original AWB. Whether it is moderated this time or not, if one wants to shoot in the future, I suggest that buying ammunition when you can find it, is not greed or hoarding. If it becomes commonly available again, buy it. Buy as much as you can or as much as you want. There will come a time when registration of ammo buyers and quantity limiting will come about. The Liberal anti-gunners are not going to stop. And I qualify the Liberal antis vs. the Liberal pro-gun folks because I know , first hand, that they are out there. I have received calls from quite a few that never owned guns but when it came down to it, the 2A was as important to them as to me. I have been to the gun store with 7 Lib friends in the last 3 weeks and they are now owners and are writing their legislators. It will take ALL of us this time to stop this garbage , if it is at all possible.

    Regards,

    ezra

Whats this shortage I keep hearing about, I am well supplied with 22lr. When I started working retail a while back we had just stopped carrying firearms and also most ammunition. We had boxes dynapoint bulk pack that went on clearance for 10$ a box I picked up about 4 dozen boxes(all we had). Can never have to much 22lr lol.
