Literal bug out bag?

So I've been considering this idea for a few years since a buddy told me a horrid tick story. Would the bivy from the MSS work as a bug suit if soaked in a solution of permethrin? I understand the water proof properties of the bag might pose a problem, but was just curious if this might be a viable option. Any info or feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Big suit? Like to walk around? Try that in your house and see how it works. Sounds like a ba idea to me.

Now, for sleeping, IF you zip it up all the way, itll keep you pretty big free. Permethrin always helps.

Ha. I guess that does read funny ..Yeah I just mean to detour bugs from crawling on the bag as I laid it on the ground. REally just wasnt sure if it would bind properly to the gortex I guess.

I don't know. I use it without permethrin and have no probs. and it's tick city down here (well, not this time o year, but usually). The key is fully closing the bivy. Not everyone likes to do that.

Yeah. I uses a skeeter beater pro in the spring/summer/most fall. It's the way to go

Well I do have a surplus hammock tent with the bug net sides. I have used it with an over tarp to make a dry "common area". I like it well enough but for the sake of curiosity and to add to my toolbox I made this thread!

Sleeping in a goretex bag would probably be very hot and sweaty in the summer.
