I have found that I really, really don't like having something laying right on my face when sleeping. Has anyone tried to mod the bivy to add a pole or some such to hold the head section up?

Wear a baseball cap... Make a frame with coat hangars... I really dunno, it's never bothered me that much.
A buddy of mine makes a button with a rock or whatever is laying around and ties it to a branch or something to keep it off his face. I have never tried it, but swears by it.

Easy to rig a tripod out of three sticks and paracord
My Bibler Hooped bivy has a small channel sewn into it that a piece of copper wire slides into. It creates a half circle and keeps the mesh off of your face. Should be easy to add to your existing bivy.
try inserting heavy duty zip ties in the rim, should give it some structur without permanently changing anything.
I used my MSS bivy for the first time last weekend and at first I was worried about the feeling of it on my face. It turns out that as a side sleeper it didn't bother me at all.
But if I wasn't I think I would try adding a couple small loops to hold a piece of tent pole or something along those lines.
Tapatalk ate my spelling and grammar.
