Hawai'i MUCH closer to China than the mainland US but for some reason mail from China is never sent direct to Hawai'i but usually via New York or San Francisco so things take 4 to 6 weeks to arrive here from China.

Those are two very large customs sorting facilities.

Must suck getting mail to Hawaii but then again your living in Hawaii. A bit difficult for me to feel sad for you

Sigh... this is like crack for me...

    Got a three pack of the 8mm x 100mm (5/16 x 4) and one of the 1/2 x 5 mamma-jammas on the way...

Thanks for the heads-up on these...

Really glad to see everyone jumping on this,

I can't see myself ever paying for $15 firesteels again frankly. Plus, even a DIY philistine such as myself can even now have a go at putting a handle on one of these

It's really a drag when you're trying to make a friction fire on the beach and curious bikini clad women keep on coming by asking what you're doing. Have pity on me.

I couldn't help myself for how cheap it was. It's one I know I can just abuse and know it will handle it for a long time

Have you noticed any difference in the quality/quantity of spark that comes of it? I've had some small rods that took a long time to get through the surface layer to a point where it was giving off a good spray of sparks. It's as if the the first couple of thousanths of the surface needed to be scrapped off first.
