    Default Machete/Large knife question

Recently saw a machete that had a blade shape similar to a condor village parang but the handle was completely straight. I'd say the blade was about 14 inches and the handle was 5-6 inches. There was a diamond symbol on the blade. Does anyone know what this was?

and no I didnt get a picture... that would just be too easy

What type of finish did the blade have? What was the handle material? And where did you see this machete?

My dad had one on the farm. The hardware store called it a Chinese machete. He bought in the early 90's when I was away at college. I tried it,but found it too thick and ackward. Found it to be a cross between a machete and a parang. It was well constructed for what it was. A friend of mine now has it.

It looks like a cane knife used for harvesting sugar cane.

Well I do know that Diamond Brand is a commonly exported Chinese machete brand, but the diamond on their blade is of the cut-gem variety rather than a rhombus like the diamond on a deck of cards.
