Default Keep the Ruger Security Six?

I have always wanted a Ruger GP100 or a SP101. When I had the money, I couldn't find one. Last summer, I came across a Ruger Security Six, 357 SS 4". I jumped on it. I really like it. I had a blued Security Six years ago, but sold it off to fund something else. The Security Six is a sweet handgun. But, I still had the GP100 bug.

Well, I recently sold my Glock 19 (sort of kicking myself), and came across a great deal on a GP100. I snatched it up! It is really nice. It is definitely beefier than the Security Six.

My dilema.....Should I sell off the Security Six? I don't "need" it, will not carry it, won't hunt with it, don't really need to have the cash, etc. I am not really attached to it..............yet! I wouldn't mind getting another Glock 19.

    Am I crazy?

Not if I can make you an acceptable offer.

There are no more security sixs being made.
You have a wonderful 357 as a back up to your excellent 357.
No one in the political arena has ever mentioned banning wheel guns.

And most of all the only thing better than owning a Ruger 357 is owning two of them

The Security Six is one of the best 357 revolvers around, made to last, and small enough to carry easily for most of us. I carried one as a duty gun for several years.

If you KNOW you won't carry it or use, go ahead and trade it off. But I will make you a bet that in a year you will be wishing you had kept it. BTDT.

I always like to have at least two firearms that can shoot the same caliber, stuff happens, breaks, gets lost, stolen, forgotten, now not likely on your Rugers but?????? Would you like to have a case of ammo and not be able to use it cause yea got rid of one and something unfortunate happend to the other......one in none and two is one....

I'd sell it and buy the G19.

Do not sell, you will later regret it.

I have rarely regretted buying, but almost always regret selling....Keep it.

Every year I buy myself a new gun. I told myself that I would never sell one, and some day, my kids, or grand kids, are going to have the time of their lives going through them. remember guns never go down in value. My first gun was a remington 870 express. $100 from K-Mart. being over 20 years it may not be an investment, but it certainly isn't throwing money away.
