What's the most money you've spent on a blade?

I know of a few Randalls, Liles, and Scagals forum members own. But to be honest it might not be wise to admit it on an open forum. Some being worth twice their weight in pure gold. No B.S.

My investent blades are secured in a safe deposit box and insured.

I usually factor in a custom sheath into the cost as well.

I'm getting rid of all of my production knives, except a couple beaters.. And going with custom from here out. I would rather own 4 custom knives I use the rest of my life, then tons of production knifes.

For me, quality over quantity from here out. I find my tastes change as I learn more.

I've owned a few knives - between 35 and 40 Emersons, about fifty Benchmades, a dozen or so Striders, eight or nine Chris Reeves and fifteen or twenty customs... Emerson, Krein, Lambert, Terzuola, etc.

And a few others...

I got it new. It was sold a few months ago by the guy I sold it to (carried and used by both of us) for $1300, which is a relative steal for a left handed CQC-6 these days.

Those days are past, however.

About a year and a half ago I had a job change that necessitated basic liquidation of the collection. I've tried to catalog most of them on my personal website (can't link to it, it's against the rules.)

I really don't miss most of them. I've since realized that they were just stuff, and life is better without that crazy obsession.

I do appreciate a good knife, though.

Money I've spent for handmade knives. $300, $250, $240, $220.. all very practical knives for bushcraft.

Most I've spent for just a production blade would be around $220. My maximum limit is $220.

The knife I use most is a Mora. I rarely go anywhere without it.

$600.00 for my River Bottom Blades- Guide, and along with it came the Kylie Bug Kephart. Best $600.00 I have ever spent. And for such a worthy cause.

When I bought my Cold Steel Mini Gurka Light, I paid close to retail probably 170-180, but at the time I was a LCPL in the Marine Corps and I didn't spend my cash at bars, any kind of club, or support any beer companies.

$60 on a single blade Buck liner lock when they first came around. Actually had it on layaway . Im looking to get into better knifes after spending years on the Big 5 garbage blades.
