$50 Chopper

Hey guys, I want a large knife specifically for chopping. I know the benefits of hatchets, hawks, and machetes. I just want a chopper. I would like to find something for around $50.

I have been looking at the Condor Kumunga, and like it. Anyone have experience with it?

Or any other recommendations?

Most Condor stuff is solid. I've bought one knife as a gift and two machetes for myself. If you are okay with fit and finish imperfections, and putting a better edge on it, it will likely serve you perfectly. I look at Condors as project knives: fixer-uppers.

I've got a BK7 that's a good chopper, a BK9 would work even better I suppose. You will need to find one used most likely though.

I have a Cold Steel Kukri Machete. That thing would fit the bill perfectly. About $25 for it, nice a think, hefty and has amazing batoning and chopping power.

A Kukri will out chop any other large knife, if chopping is what you want, get a kukri... They are specifically designed for chopping.

I second the kukri, either order one from India such as from the kukri house or get the Condor heavy duty kukri.
