    Default Warm day hike

I did this hike a few weeks ago.It was in the 50's so a buddy of mine thought it would be a good day for a hike.We got to the forest about 10am and started are hike.We had fog until about 11:30am but when it lifted we had a sunny sky with some clouds.Did some tree Id while walking though the pines and the beech trees stand out being the only tree around that has it leaves. My buddy got the Bear Grylls ultimate knife and the compact fixed blade knife and wanted to try them out and so did I.So I showed him how to do a split wood fire and feather sticks and shavings and he had a try at some fatwood. The ultimate knife was better than I thought it would be,but I forgot to take pics of the two. After hiking to the cabin we followed creek around and back out before sunset.

Looks like an awesome hike. I couldn't tell from the pictures, but where the mossy stones part of an old foundation, or was that a wall?
