I plan on holding every knife in the store. I have kind of small hands anyway. That is one reason I don't think I would like a Becker, but I have never held one so I will have to wait and see when I get there.

We already have plans for dinner while we are there, but this my be my only chance to get a $100 dollar knife. Plus I already have a parang that I hardly ever use. It is not a condor, but I most only use it in the garden cutting corn stalks anyway.

I like the looks of the Ontario Rat-3.

Personaly I would look into the ESEEs over the Ontario RAT series, same knives but with better fit/finish, heat treat, and sheaths.

Check out the Becker "tweeners" too, I really like the looks of the BK-16, its not bulky like the other beckers, but still plenty tough and made out of Ka-Bar's excelent 1095cv carbon steel.

My opinion, which isnt worth a flip, would be try everything even remotely interesting on for size and handling. Then after making all the pertinent observations order a fine knife from one of our fellow, or lady, forum members. You know, buy locally so to speak. I'm sure you would get a fine knife and I know they would appreciate the sales.

If I were in this situation, I would get one of these,

    Plus one of these,

You may have change left over if the taxman is good to you.

    Happy Anniverary too!
