So, I bought this rucksack and found out that I really didn't like it all that much. Not so much the rucksack itself as the whole traditional rucksack style. Not enough pockets and the heavy material just wasn't me. I like the Alice style rucksacks/packs (whatever you want to call them) alot better. I've never taken it out but the eBay bid I won said it was near mint. I attached the description from the eBay bid I won with pictures. I'm looking to trade it for maybe a few leather pouches or whatever else somebody is will to trade it for. I don't think it's worth a knife or anything but I'm sure someone has something they wouldn't mind letting go for this rucksack.
Below is eBay description.
These Swiss army engineer rucksacks are in excellent hand select un-issued conditon. The bags have a large main compartment thst is 18" in depth by 14" by 10". The outside compartment is 8"X11"x4" and are in hand select conditon. The leather straps are in excellent pliable condition. The backpacks are made of a waterproof rubber material and have a heavy duty leather bottom and leather straps. The bags also have an extra heavy duty leather back or hip strap as can bee seen on picture number six. There also is a tie down strap on the center outside of the main compartment and two on the outside of the packs as seen on picture number four. These straps could be used to put your tripod or tools such as an axe or shovel. The bags would be excellent for someone with sensitive equipment such as cameras , GPS devices or surveying equipment since the bags are fully waterproof. The top opening of the bag has a inner waterproof flap with a drawsting for extra portection for your gear so the bag also would be an excellent heavy duty bail out bag when keeping your gear dry is a must.
