Default 18th Century Wooden Tinder Box

Something I have want to try and make for some time now. Finally got around to it. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.

Brass latch to keep it closed

Leather to put out the unused punk

    It works great.

Only power tool I used was a band saw to cut the lit from the main body, used my spoon knife to dig out the inside. And forged the square nail for the pivot point.

Nice work, man. I like that brass latch.

What type of wood is this?

Pine I think. It was off of a pallet.

I actually made two, I didn't think to make a latch on the first one. So I made the second. I want to get a crispa for the coffin shaped one.
