Small ziploc with dentstone or plaster for casting a unique track.
Won't fit in your kit. But, I have 3 "o" rings and a permanent mark on my walking stick. All measurements are taken from the mark to the "o" rings. To the first "o" ring is the length of the track. To the second is the distance between left and right prints. To the third "o" ring is the length of the stride. Just role each "o" ring into position and they stay put. I suggest taking your walking stick to the hardware store to insure a snug fit.
Have fun tracking. It is a fun way to spend a few extra hours in the woods or desert.
Wont fit in your kit but toilet paper for marking tracks. Better than surveyor tape and has other uses.
Hi Leaf and Lightning!
Sorry for the late response. Here are the contents of my little tracking kit:
Attachment 71474
I carry it in a "BDU Pocket" pouch. The contents are minimal:
- dowels with surveyor's tape slipped into the pencil holders
- mini tape measure
- pencil
- mini notepad
- mini rigid ruler (plastic)
I use the rigid ruler to measure tracks. The tape measure is for stride.
There is room in the pouch to add more things. However it just contains the items I use most often.
Hope this helps!
