Default Condor Bushlore... Is it any good?

I have recently been looking at the Condor Bushlore as a main survival knife, but I just want to know if I should buy it, or if I should go for something a bit more expensive? Does anybody have any experience with the knife? Thanks for your advice guys.
    -Josh

I don't have one, but I know there are many people who love theirs.

You will find few other knives that are AS GOOD for its price. I think it's one of the best "bang fer yer buck" mass-produced woodlore clones on the market. Cost of a knife does not necessarily mean it's better (for you).

The blade is good (you will need to put some work into getting it real sharp). And you may have to sand down the rivets on the handle. Mine came a little rough around the edges in that regard. Sheath is excellent for the $30 price tag on the knife (not the micarta handle version).

With that said, if you're willing to pay just a little more, the options open up. The Condor is a great starter knife and I would recommend for someone getting started (also any of the Mora knives).

My advice is to read up on some of the posts on BCUSA on various knives. Figure out what you'll be doing with the knife. What knife blade shape do you fancy? Which grip feels best to you?

I love mine, and the fact that it takes some work to get it up to par. That makes the knife truly yours. Condor has a great warranty, and are great knives for the money. That said, I would only buy them from FortyTwoBlades.

Have the new model Bushlore and love it to pieces. Great steel and mine is finished nicely from the factory. Takes a wicked sharp edge.

Great knife for the price. I have 3 of them. Lol. They see a lot of use and stand up to the task.
