Default Rainy/Snowy day in the Hardwoods.

Went out to try to get a few things accomplished. It was raining when I left the house and right around 30 degrees. I about stayed home, glad I got our, very therapeutic and worthwhile.

    Camp,

Collecting some water from the tarp,

Finding some wood, hackberry is the worst ever, very gnarly, never again.

BK7 and chert, and lots of trys. Char rope I could not get to catch spark, went to char cloth and it was able to capture. Char rope works fine with a real striker.

    Jute twine tinder bundle,

Tarp water, with some sleet in it as well,

    Coffee is gone,

And so am I. Rain has turned to sleet, which has turned to snow. You can see my fire smoldering out, snow is coming down, Iím packed up and headed home.

    Thanks for looking,

Looks like a great time out. I hear you on that hackberry, that is some rough stuff. Interesting setup with your tarp and hammock on different trees. Thanks for the pics!
