    Default Bush Duty & Rewards

Lately, as part of a recovery/therapy for a recent bad back episode, I've been doing moderate walks along the shore. It's pleasant to just get out there; when I step down into the rocks, it adds a toning/balance aspect; and what the heck, might as well pick up some of the trash, flotsam and jetsam that's constantly showing up while I'm at it.

Today, I even found a handy bag to use for stashing all the other crap into. This was about an 1/8th mile collection:

But near the end, I got my reward. A pretty sturdy, nice "tin" that I guess is an actual "cigarette holder" (100mm sized):

Good on you for the cleanup and nice score.
Daughter and I were at Hensley Lake a few days ago and had that much cleaned up in under 100 feet. It was disgusting.
Heres what pisses me right off.
Finding fish hooks. Looks like you may have picked up a few yourself. Ive got my daughter red light trained in that if I say "Stop" or "red Light" or even "freeze" she halts all movement and waits for me to clear her. I do this for snakes or any other danger. I was sitting on a rock waiting for her to put her shoes on from a dip in the water and I hear her say "Ohh a necklace!" "REDLIGHT" she froze like a good girl. She was pulling fishing line from the sand and between her little toes and a damned hook was about to get yanked through.
    *rant mode off*
Thank you for making nature better than you find it brother.

We get some fisherfolk around here and, unfortunately, they're some of the worst litterers. But this is a relatively little used area. Still, we're on a bay, so plenty tides up here too.

    And thanks to you.

    And thank you for bothering.

I get astonished by some of the "finds" too. Today, there was a full bottle of flourescent red fabric paint in the rocks near the water.

We found a Jello packet. Unopened Strawberry Jello. What? Who is cooking Jello on the lake?

They're not "fishermen" they're a$$h*les that happen to fish while drinking! I am a fisherman. I DO NOT LITTER. I respect my the woods and waters that I visit. Often cleaning up the mess left by others without the respect or consideration for others that should be required in order to use the natural resources we hold so dear!

    much appreciate the rants.

and about that nifty tin: looks like just the thing for mini-first-aid kit with band-aids, etc., or maybe a back pocket fire kit ...
